Title “IMMERSION” Functionality of immersion
Concept “There is no such thing as “white.” Rather, “white” exists solely in our Sensory perception.” ーKenya Hara, “The Discovery of White” WHITE, 2008, p.1 The starting point for this project was the definition of white as a vessel that accepts the future. Furthermore, I was reminded of “4 minutes and 33 seconds” (1952) by the American composer John Cage, and realized that blankness immerses people, resulting in a confrontation with themselves.
Using functional knitwear, brought about by technology, as the main material, I propose a dress that functions as a “vessel” for immersing the people.
